Professor Jacek Ruszkowski was a head of the Watch Health Care Foundation Research Council, that was named after him. He died on 2nd of December 2010. He was a member of the Leon Kozminski Academy Senate in Warsaw, director of the Public Health Center, lecturer in higher education, postgraduate and MBA Kozminski University. He was also a member of the New York Academy of Sciences, the Scientific Council of the Medical Center of Postgraduate Education, Warsaw, and head of the Department of Medical Informatics and Biomathematics at that center. Professor Ruszkowski is an author of more than 100 publications, including books, chapters and monographs, articles in national and international journals and research reports. The organizer of many conferences and seminars on topics related to health care. The main areas of professor Ruszkowski’s interest were systems of financing health care, health insurance, management and economics of medical technologies, healthcare information systems, and issues of the Evidence Based Health Care (EBHC).
